Today I didn't go to the office. Instead I got invited to the I & IT orientation at the MacDonald block where I was last week for the internship orientation. This was a little different because for starters it was a smaller group. Secondly, I was a minority. Most of the people in I & IT are men! E
ven though I'm not an I & IT intern I got invited for this orientation because I'm an Electronic Service Delivery Intern. Because the two are closely linked they invited all six ESD interns like myself. Unfortunately, only one other ESD intern showed so she was the only one I got to meet. Kind of sucks.
The orientation itself was ok. I think what I got most of out of it was the opportunity to network. I also got to chat again with Michael, the intern I met at the dinner at Spring Rolls last week. It was fun to see what had changed since I'd last seen him.
After the orientation was over an intern named Charles decided that it would be a good idea to go for a beer afterwards. So we rounded up a bunch of the interns and headed to Brownstone.
We arrived at just the right time because it was happy hour and appetizers were only half price! Well the funny thing was that the drinks were $7 a piece and appetizers only 3 bucks! What is this world coming to? I had a great chat with the I & IT guys. I talked to Michael about Thunder Bay. It was fun.
After that I headed home.
